Marilyn Monroe, The Last Sitting by Bert Stern

The Last Sitting is a book and photo shoot of Marilyn Monroe by photographer Bert Stern. The photo shoot was commissioned by Vogue magazine in late June 1962, taking place over three daily sessions, just six weeks before she died. Bert Stern published The Last Sitting in 1982.

First Printing. This is a first edition of Atwood's science-fiction classic. It was first published in Canada by M&S before going on to win numerous awards and be reprinted in the US and elsewhere.Signed by the author on the half-title page.A VG+ copy. Book is tight with some bumping to the spine ends. No markings internally aside from the dedication. Jacket with some edgewear and wrinkling to spine ends.The Handmaid's Tale won the 1985 Governor General's Award and the first Arthur C. Clarke Award in 1987; it was also nominated for the 1986 Nebula Award, the 1986 Booker Prize, and the 1987 Prometheus Award.

The Moon is Down

-First edition, second state, of Steinbeck's novel about an unnamed country under occupation, written at the height of World War II.
 In fewer than 200 pages, Steinbeck presents a novel about living in an invaded country--the heroes, the traitors, and the occupying forces. While the novel was based on Norway during World War II, Steinbeck's intention was to create a universal picture of war and its human cost.
